UNLV junior safety Jordyn Morgan is one of 73 FBS nominees vying for a spot on the 2023 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the American Football Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

The award recognizes a select group of college football players who have made a commitment to service and enriching the lives of others.

Morgan, who is a communication studies major originally from Universal City, Texas, is a returning starter for the Rebels after transferring to UNLV from Iowa State prior to the 2022 season. He also has launched his own local non-profit organization, Aspire2Inspire, which was created to promote reading literacy and benefit kids who have lost family members to gun violence.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, established in 1992, is one of the most coveted community service awards in college football. From the 135 total nominees from FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA, the final roster of 23 award recipients will bring together 11 players from the NCAA Football Subdivision. To be considered for a spot each player must be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group, while maintaining strong academic standing.

The Rebels have had four players earn a spot on the exclusive team over the years: WR Casey Flair (2007), DE Leon Moore (2005), DB Jamaal Brimmer (2004) and OL Tony Terrell (2002).

Season tickets for UNLV’s six-game home schedule, priced starting at just $150, are available now by visiting unlvtickets.com or calling (702) 739-FANS (3267).
