Nevada Mining Association hosts annual mining night
at Reno Aces game with MORE THAN 7,000 attendees
Nevada Mining Association Supplier’s Committee raised $7,500 to support the Ronald McDonald House of Northern Nevada.
The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) held its annual Mining Night with the Reno Aces at Greater Nevada Field on Saturday, June 24. The event helps bring awareness to Nevada’s Mining Industry, hosting mining and member companies and their families from across the Silver State.
With more than 7,000 fans in attendance, the evening featured a $7,500 check presentation to the Ronald McDonald House of Northern Nevada from the Nevada Mining Association Supplier’s Committee. The presentation was held on the field prior to the first pitch, with members of the recipient nonprofit and the Nevada Mining Association present.
The Supplier’s Committee selected the Ronald McDonald House of Northern Nevada as the beneficiary due to its critical work in the state’s rural communities. The nonprofit serves as a resource for families, including miners working in remote locations, when their child may need extended or specialty health care in an urban center such as Reno. During Mining Night, the Ronald McDonald House families and staff were invited to attend, extending the opportunity to a current resident of the house to perform the first pitch. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by a member of a mining family who happened to be staying at the House at the time while her newborn baby sister was receiving extended care at the Renown NICU.
