The senior quarterback had four total touchdowns in his Rebel debut

 UNLV football senior quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams has been named the Raising Cane’s Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Thursday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

Williams, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, led the Rebels to a dominant 59-14 victory over Fresno State. In his first start as a Rebel, he completed 13-of-16 pass attempts for 182 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 119 yards and another score.

The veteran signal-caller completed 81.3-percent of his passes, did not get sacked and averaged 9.9 yards per rush in the Mountain West opener..

After the victory, the Rebels are undefeated through the first four games for the first time since 1976.
