THE MOB MUSEUM TO COMMEMORATE 12th ANNIVERSARY WITH FREE ADMISSION FOR NEVADA RESIDENTS, WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14
Non-Residents Receive Buy-One, Get-One Admission
WHAT:
The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces FREE museum admission for Nevada residents and buy-one, get-one admission for non-residents to celebrate its 12th anniversary. The day will also include an exclusive showcase of the two Thompson submachine guns used in the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre on February 14, 1929. That Valentine’s Day, seven members and associates of the North Side bootlegging gang were lined up against a wall and shot to death by assassins believed to have been hired by Al Capone. The bricks from that wall are on permanent display on the Museum’s third-floor St. Valentine’s Day Massacre exhibit.
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with members of the Berrien County, Michigan, Sheriff’s Department, where the firearms currently reside. Officials will be on hand to share insights, discuss the historical significance of the firearms and answer any questions guests may have. Other St. Valentine’s Day Massacre-related artifacts from the Museum’s extensive collection will be accessible, providing a captivating glimpse into this pivotal moment in history.
Offering a look at what the Chicago Outfit became after Capone’s reign, reformed mobster Frank Calabrese Jr. will be onsite sharing the story of his life with the Outfit and how he worked with federal law enforcement to take down the criminal organization, which included his own father, Frank Calabrese Sr.
Rounding out the anniversary celebration, the Las Vegas Cadillac Club will have a display of historic vehicles, while Vitalant Blood Donation will be onsite hosting a blood drive. The Goodfellas Grill will serve food for purchase throughout the afternoon.
