THE GOLD MINE TAVERN TO BENEFIT VETERANS

Event held in partnership with Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association
will collect goods and money for Nevada State Veterans Home, located in Boulder City

The iconic Gold Mine Tavern on Water Street will host the 2nd annual Wish List Drive & Biker Appreciation Night, a 21+ event that benefits the Nevada State Veterans Home located in Boulder City, on June 20 at 5 p.m. The festivities, held in partnership with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA), will collect items that veterans in need put on their “wish lists”in addition to funds. The good cause will take on a lively atmosphere with drink specials, free food, a bikini bike wash and live music from Daze Gone By*.

“As the longest continuously run business on Water Street, The Gold Mine Tavern wants to give back to the community that has been so good to us,”said Tim Haughinberry, owner of The Gold Mine Tavern. “This is a great way to help those who served our country while having fun.”

Items requested by the veterans include, but are not limited to, restaurant and phone gift cards, hats, travel size toiletries, forever stamps from the US Postal Service, picture frames and puzzle books. Admission to the event is free, so donations of goods are strongly encouraged. A raffle will be held and funds collected will go toward the purchase of additional items. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, the partner teaming up with The Gold Mine Tavern for this year’s event, is a non-profit group of military veterans from all branches of service.

“All members share a common bond of combat service, a love of riding motorcycles and a deep-rooted desire to help fellow veterans from all eras,” said Nate (Wiffle) French, CVMA 41-1 Secretary/Webmaster. “We are about Veterans Helping Veterans.”

The event will include drinks specials such as $3 Miller Lite, Miller Fortune cans and Miller Lite draft. Sin City Smokers and the Nevada Barbecue Association will be providing food to donating attendees.  Biker games and a bikini bike wash rounds out the fun.

Wish List Drive & Biker Appreciation Night is grateful to its sponsors including Harley Davidson Henderson, Nevada Barbecue Association, Miller Lite, Miller Fortune and Syndicate Mixed Martial Arts.
