Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino Posts Another Record-Breaking Year of Annual SuperContest
First place team out of Los Angeles takes home $736,575 prize
The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino announced another record-breaking year of its annual ultimate pro football handicapping contest, the SuperContest. This year, 1,403 contestants competed for a chance to win a share of the $2,104,500 prize pool.
“CH Ballers” clinched first place and collected the big check of $736,575 by choosing 76% of professional football winners with a 64-20-1 record. The Los Angeles team, members include Kirk, Andrew, Justin and Preston, was named after their former high school, Campbell Hall.
“General TSO”, consisting of Boston team members Michael and Keith, finished second with a 60-25 record and received $294,630. Third place went to “DEGENCHAT” with a 58-27 season and prize amount of $147,315.
The top 30 teams and ties received cash prizes as well. The “mini-contest” which includes the best record over the last three weeks of the season went to Las Vegas resident “KellyinVegas” with a 14-1 run.
“Each year the SuperContest continues to get bigger and better,” said Jay Kornegay, Vice President of Race & Sports for the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino. “This popular contest has grown tremendously, doubling in the number of entries, and we are excited for all of this year’s winners.”
The SuperContest is the ultimate pro football handicapping contest in the world’s largest race & sports book, the SuperBook®. Contestants can win their share of the prize pool by paying a $1,500 entry fee prior to the start of the regular professional football season and then must pick five games each week against the point spread throughout the 17-week regular season. The prize structure is based on the number of entrants and is structured so that contestants receive 100% of the prize money paid in.
