Wells Fargo and Findlay Kia sponsor vehicle donation to Military Warriors Support Foundation for local combat-wounded veteran at Las Vegas Ballpark

 

What: At Las Vegas Ballpark, Wells Fargo, in collaboration with Findlay Kia, will sponsor a vehicle donation through Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program. Retired U.S. Army National Guard Specialist Steven Stanley, who was born and raised in Las Vegas, will be awarded a new 2020 Kia Sedona L.

Why:  Wells Fargo supports Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program, which provides payment-free vehicles and family and financial mentorship to smooth the transition from the military to civilian life. Since 2012, Wells Fargo has donated more than 400 homes, valued at over $60 million, to veterans in all 50 states, and provided more than 35 vehicles and financial mentoring, valued at over $1 million, to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families in collaboration with local dealerships.

Retired U.S. Army National Guard Specialist Steven Stanley joined the Army National Guard in 2006 and served as a 19 Kilo M1A1 Abrams Armor Crewmen in the Honor Platoon. In 2008, he attended the 19 Delta Cavalry Scout MOS-T School, and soon after was deployed to Afghanistan. While supporting combat operations in Afghanistan, Specialist Stanley was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart for his wounds. After serving one tour, he continued his service in the National Guard until 2014, when he was medically retired from the military. Through his military career, Specialist Stanley was awarded the Combat Action Badge and Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and others for his service. Today, he lives in his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada with his blended family of ten.

Since 2010, Military Warriors Support Foundation has awarded nearly 900 mortgage-free homes through their Homes4WoundedHeroes & Homes4GoldStars program, and has assisted combat-wounded veterans, Gold Star Spouses, and their families in paying off over $21.4 million in debt through mentorship.
