The UNLV volleyball program is one of 200 NCAA Division I programs to earn the United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 season, it was announced Thursday.

This marks the ninth consecutive year that the Rebels have earned the honor and is the 10th overall for the program since the 2007-08 season.

A record 1,333 collegiate and high school volleyball teams across multiple divisions earned the award this season. Initiated during the 1992-93 academic year, it honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

UNLV uses the 4.0 scale and Rebel Volleyball posted a 3.34 cumulative team grade point average this past academic year.

The Rebels went 26-5 overall on the court during the 2022 season, including 17-1 in Mountain West play to earn the regular-season conference title, and made the NCAA Tournament as an at-large selection.

The upcoming 2023 season will be the first under new head coach Malia Shoji. To purchase season tickets, please visit UNLVtickets.com.
