W.A.S.P. CELEBRATES 40 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR DEBUT, SELF-TITLED ALBUM AT BROOKLYN BOWL, DEC. 12

The band will play their entire first album from start to finish alongside special guests Death Angel and Unto Others

Heavy metal rockers W.A.S.P. are embarking on their “Album ONE Alive!” North American tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. The band will be making a stop at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Dec. 12, and will be performing the album in its entirety for the first time in 40 years.

Widely regarded as a central piece of the 80s metal scene, W.A.S.P first brought their universally acclaimed classic album to life in 1982. “It was an angry record made by an angry band,” said lead vocalist Blackie Lawless. “It was a record that not only reflected the attitude of the band members who made it, but also a record that reflected its time.”

Lawless will be joined by bassist Mike Duda, lead guitarist Doug Blair and long-time drummer Aquiles Priester.

Tickets to W.A.S.P. go on sale Friday, May 31 at 10 a.m. PST. Artist presales begin Wednesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. PST with KNOTFEST, Blabbermouth and BraveWords presales taking place the following day on May 30 at 11 a.m. PST.

About W.A.S.P.
Few bands in the history of Rock N’ Roll have ever incited the love, the hate, the raw emotional effect this band has had on the world. From the very beginning, in the small venues of Los Angeles, California, and later to the numerous countries worldwide that banned these winged assassins from performing live, the band’s unique style of shock and rock caused religious organizations, local city councils, parliaments and the Washington D.C. senate to hold hearings in an effort to bar this group from selling records and trashing stages everywhere they played.

The band’s founding member, frontman Blackie Lawless, has led the group as its lead vocalist and primary songwriter since its beginning. His unique brand of visual, social and political comment took the group to worldwide heights and sold millions of records alongside a legacy of sold out shows across the globe for four decades.

About Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys proudly remain Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs turned champions. Since 1996, the boys have created the kind of music that’s meant to be chanted at last call, in packed arenas, and during the fourth quarter, third period, or ninth inning of a comeback rally. Their celebrated discography includes four consecutive Billboard top 10 album debuts (Turn Up That Dial, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, Signed and Sealed in Blood, Going Out In Style), along with 2005’s Certified-Gold album The Warrior’s Code featuring the double platinum classic “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.” Whether you caught a legendary gig at The Rathskeller (The Rat) under Kenmore Square, found the band by taking the T to Newbury Comics to cop Do Or Die in ’98, discovered them in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award winning The Departed, or saw ‘em throw down at Coachella (or one of hundreds of other festivals), you’ve become a part of their extended family. Dropkick Murphys’ music has generated half-a-billion streams, they’ve quietly moved 8 million-plus units worldwide and the band has sold out gigs on multiple continents. In 2020, the band was one of the first to embrace streaming performances, starting with their Streaming Up From Boston St. Patrick’s Day virtual performance. It was followed by their landmark Streaming Outta Fenway livestream, which drew more than 5.9 million viewers and held the #3 spot on Pollstar’s “Top 2020 Live Streams” chart. Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day Stream 2021…Still Locked Down, was #1 on Pollstar’s Livestream chart for the week ending March 22, 2021, logging over 1 million views. Dropkick Murphys returned in 2022 with their first-ever all-acoustic album, This Machine Still Kills Fascists (Dummy Luck Music / [PIAS]), and seated theater tour. This Machine Still Kills Fascists–and their follow-up album Okemah Rising–breathe musical life into mostly unpublished lyrics by the legendary Woody Guthrie, curated for the band by Woody’s daughter Nora Guthrie.
