VEGAS THRILL ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF 2023 DRAFT AHEAD OF INAUGURAL PRO VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION SEASON

Following the historical draft for the inaugural 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation season, Vegas Thrill proudly announces its selections, solidifying an impressive lineup of talented athletes ready to take the court this February. The selections for the first professional volleyball team in Las Vegas add to the powerhouse team’s current roster helmed by Coach Fran Flory.
“We couldn’t be more honored and excited to further solidify Vegas Thrill’s potential and watch our team of nationally recognized women gear up for our first match in Omaha on Feb. 7,” said Ruben Herrera, President of Vegas Thrill. “The talent and passion we witnessed during this first draft was heart pumping – we can’t wait for next year as we introduce our historical team to Las Vegas and its home arena, The Dollar Loan Center.”
In addition to the Olympians, All-Americans and world-class players including Alisha Glass Childress, Khat Bell, Layne Van Buskirk, Saskia Hippe, Molly McCage, and Berkeley Oblad five more star athletes have been signed to a contract including:
- Hannah Pukis, Setter, University of Minnesota– a standout athlete with a track record of success, Pukis played a pivotal role in leading her collegiate team to the 2023 Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament. Pukis, an All-American, Pacific North All-Region Team member and All-Pac-12 Team player, is expected to bring her exceptional skills and leadership to the team.
- Gabby Gonzales, Outside Hitter, University of Oregon – a vital part of the 2023 Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament, Gonzalez is known for her dynamic playing style and earned past recognition as a 2022 AVCA All-Northeast Region Honorable Mention and All-Big Ten Second Team pick at Ohio State.
- Kylie Murr, Libero, University of Minnesota – an AVCA All-North Region awardee, Murr brings exceptional defensive prowess to the team, setting impressive records during her collegiate career. Murr’s achievements at both Minnesota and Ohio State showcase her as a force defensibility.
- Hannah Maddux, Outside Hitter, University of South Alabama – a fifth-year senior, Maddux has a wealth of experience and played a crucial role in guiding her team to the NCAA Tournament. Maddux’s impressive offensive statistics ranked her third in the conference and 27th nationally in total kills
- Maddie Schermerhorn, Libero, Purdue University – a key contributor to Purdue’s Sweet Sixteen run in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, Schermerhorn’s accomplishments include All-Big-Ten Second Team honors
Vegas Thrill is one of seven U.S. teams for the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation season in 2024, while Dallas, Indianapolis and Kansas City have been announced as 2025 expansion teams. In 2024, Vegas Thrill will play 24 matches which include 12 at home and 12 on the road in the regular season. Pro Volleyball Federation matches will take place on 67 different dates between January and May 2024 as opponents will be competing every day of the week.
