Vegas Stand Up & Rock showcases live entertainment at OYO Hotel & Casino, located footsteps from the Las Vegas Strip and MGM Grand at 115 E. Tropicana Ave. This month, catch the final shows of TinaMania a tribute to the timeless Tina Turner, plus a lineup of live rock bands that changes weekly. Live music in January features Aces High, Luciefr, Alive, Sweet Home Alabama, One Night Stand the Band and Buried by Vengeance. Thursday January 11, go back in time and enjoy the 8 p.m. showing of Retro Comedy. On Thursday, January 18, Mollie De Menthe Presents: A Night of Burlesque will take the stage at 9 p.m. Finally, Poetry In Motion will be celebrating their one-year anniversary poetry show with an 8 p.m. show on Wednesday, Jan. 31.   • Thursday through Saturday at 5 p.m. through Saturday, Jan. 20: TinaMania

Tribute veteran and former Ikette, Kiesha Wright, performs Tina Turner’s greatest hits at 5   p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

  • 8:00 p.m. and 9 p.m., schedule below: On select nights, live music and comedy takes over the 9 p.m. slot, produced in conjunction with Outlaw Entertainment, from producers, promoters and brothers Jason and Ray Outlaw.

 

Guests 15 years or older are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Guests must be 18 years or older to attend Burlesque-style shows. Comedy ticket prices start at $29.95 plus taxes and fees; live music tickets start at $10 plus taxes and fees.   • Thursday, January 11: Retro Comedy

Irma Ruiz is a former wannabe chola, turned schoolteacher and later turned comedian. Ruiz has performed in comedy clubs, casinos and festivals in Texas and various locations throughout the nation. Her comedy covers motherhood, education, marriage, family and more. She is now the owner of her own San Antonio based company called Mind Twist Comedy and producer of the show “Teachers Gone Bad.” Join her and her special guests as they reminisce about living life in the 80s and 90s in this hilarious comedy show.

  • Thursday, January 18: Mollie De Menthe Presents A Night of Burlesque

A Night of Burlesque features a range of cabaret and burlesque acts to tantalize the eyes     and ears, this month’s performers include Mollie De Menthe, Victoria Jade, Isabelle Ivy,       Adelia Adelaide, Delta Rae Delise, Zelda Fairfax, Meilani Venus and Glitter Ginger.

  • Wednesday, January 31: Poetry In Motion

Join host and six-time published poet Sadie “The Poetry Princess” Petersen in celebration of Poetry In Motion’s one year anniversary poetry showdown. The 90s inspired theme welcomes all poetry and will have 10 poets competing for a cash prize. Locals can also enjoy a $20 all-you-can-drink special with valid Nevada ID.

  • Friday, January 12: Sweet Home Alabama

Home Sweet Alabama is the ultimate tribute band to Lynyrd Skynyrd and other southern rock bands. While they cover classic Skynyrd songs like “What’s Your Name,” “Free Bird” and “Gimme Three Steps,” they also throw in some of the best southern rock songs from other popular bands.

  • Saturday, January 13: One Night Stand the Band

Enjoy an electrifying performance by One Night Stand the Band as they perform for one night only. A classic rock band, they bring with them a musical experience that crosses decades with incredible energy, mesmerizing melodies and unforgettable music.

  • Saturday, January 20: Luciefr

Led by sultry lead singer Lucie May, Luciefr is a hard punk rock band that covers legendary bands  including Motörhead, Sex Pistols, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and more, featuring heavy guitars riffs for an always electric performance.

  • Friday, January 26: Alive- The Premier Tribute to Pearl Jam

Experience the spirit of Pearl Jam with Alive – the ultimate tribute to one of rock music’s greatest acts. Alive delivers an electrifying performance that pays homage to the Seattle-based grunge pioneers. Fans can relive the magic and nostalgia of the ‘90s alternative rock era, with hits like “Jeremy” and “Black.”

  • Saturday, January 27: Buried by Vengeance

Buried by Vengeance combines emotionally charged vocals with complex instrumentation,             creating a sonic experience that will leave audiences enthralled.
