The Rogers Foundation to Award Nearly Two Million Dollars in College Scholarships to CCSD High School Seniors 

Application Period Open Now Through Feb. 5, 2023

Applications for college scholarships are now being accepted by Southern Nevada’s premier champion of arts and education, The Rogers Foundation. Those interested in scholarship opportunities are urged to discover the minimum eligibility requirements and apply directly online via The Rogers Foundation’s website at therogers.foundation/scholarships to meet the Feb. 5 deadline.  While applicants are required to complete the SAT or ACT, there is no minimum score requirement.

“Scholarship season is our favorite time of year as we get to fulfill our ongoing pledge to transform lives through arts and education,” said Michelle Sanders, Executive Vice President, and COO of The Rogers Foundation.  “We want to encourage these students to apply for a scholarship so they can pursue their educational goals. The stress of planning for college is hard and real and we want to help ease the financial stress associated with attending college.”

The Rogers Foundation offers two different scholarship programs – Rogers Achievers Scholarships and Kentucky Wesleyan Rogers’ Fellows Scholarships. A minimum of 11 Rogers Achievers Scholarships will be given away, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 per year for four years, and the money is valid toward educational costs at any college or university in the United States. Additionally, The Rogers Foundation is giving out a minimum of 10 full-ride Kentucky Wesleyan Rogers’ Fellows Scholarships to attend Kentucky Wesleyan College, an institution many of Jim Rogers’ family members attended which also features one of the top arts programs in the area.

 

Rogers Achievers Scholarship

The Rogers Foundation is offering a total of $100,000 annually ($400,000 total) in new scholarships for students wishing to pursue higher education, both within the State of Nevada and beyond; the scholarships are for students attending any institution of higher education, including vocational or technical schools, community colleges, or state universities.

$25,000 scholarship: This award is for $25,000 per year (renewable for an additional 3 years). One (1) scholarship will be offered.

$10,000 scholarship: This award is per year (renewable for an additional 3 years) to any institution of higher education. Five (5) scholarships will be offered.

$5,000 scholarship: This award is per year (renewable for an additional 3 years) to any institution of higher education. Five (5) scholarships will be offered.

 

Kentucky Wesleyan Rogers’ Fellows Scholarship

In honor of James E. Rogers, a Kentucky-born, long-time Las Vegas resident, The Rogers Foundation established the Kentucky Wesleyan Rogers’ Fellows Scholarship. It is open to college-bound residents of Southern Nevada who wish to attend Kentucky Wesleyan.

The Rogers Foundation will offer a minimum of 10 annual full scholarships to attend Kentucky Wesleyan College. These scholarships are open to current high school seniors in the Clark County School District, as well as transferring college freshmen and sophomores enrolled in a college in Southern Nevada. Additionally, each scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition, fees, and room and board. Each award recipient will receive a scholarship for up to four full years of study.
