Up the Ante for National Take the Stairs Day on January 10 and Register to Scale the Strat
American Lung Association in Nevada offers special discount code for $10 off Scale the Strat Registration
People across the country will ditch their elevator ride on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2018 and take the stairs in honor of National Take the Stairs Day which is why the American Lung Association in Nevada is challenging Las Vegas residents to take it one step further and register to climb all 108 floors to the top of the iconic Stratosphere Tower in February.
To celebrate National Take the Stairs Day and Scale the Strat’s ten year anniversary, the American Lung Association in Nevada is offering a special coupon code for $10 off Scale the Strat registration (registration is $60). The coupon code – TAKETHESTAIRS – is only valid from midnight until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. To register visit www.scalethestrat.com.
Scale the Strat will take place on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas.
“Breathing should not be an uphill battle, but for many it is,” said Kristina Crawford, executive director of the American Lung Association in Nevada. “Scale the Strat is an exhilarating experience for athletes of all abilities and a humble reminder that no one should have to fight for air on a daily basis.”
Scale the Strat is part of the American Lung Association’s Fight For Air Climb series, which raises money for lung disease research, education and advocacy. In addition to registration fees, all climbers are required to make a minimum fundraising pledge of $150. Online support and personal fundraising coaching is available online and through Lung Association staff.
Last year, a record 800 climbers of all abilities registered to run or walk 1,455 steps up the Stratosphere Tower and raised $237,000 to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Since the climb’s inception, nearly $1.5 million has been raised to support those living with lung disease.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has been the presenting sponsor for all ten years of the Fight for Air Climb, and Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower donates staff, services and use of the facility for this popular athletic event.
