Unveiling of the Las Vegas 2012 Heart Sculptures to Benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® will host the Unveiling of the spectacular Las Vegas 2012 edition of heart sculptures on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at The Park at The Smith Center. This exclusive VIP preview event will feature the 2012 heart sculptures of Las Vegas, a phenomenal collection of three-dimensional, five-foot tall heart sculptures, each custom created by a local professional artist, creating awareness for the children of St. Jude and our fight against childhood cancer and other pediatric catastrophic disease.
These unique and original pieces of artwork will later be auctioned off exclusively at our Third Annual Las Vegas Honors St. Jude Gala; An Affair of the Art, a dazzling, red-carpet event held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Four Seasons Las Vegas that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “I am proud to be on a committee for this spectacular event that is raising money for such a worthy institution as St. Jude and to be able to work with so many talented artists,” Said Dorit Schwartz, Co-Chair. This is the only time the entire breath taking 2012 collection will be in one place for the public to view and guests have the opportunity to meet the artists.
About St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Since opening 50 years ago, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has changed the way the world treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. No family ever pays St. Jude for the care their child receives and, for every child treated here, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude discoveries. The hospital has played a pivotal role in pushing U.S. pediatric cancer survival rates from 20 to 80 percent overall, and is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted to children. It is also a leader in the research and treatment of blood disorders and infectious diseases in children. St. Jude was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, who believed that no child should die in the dawn of life.
