UNLV WOMEN’S SOCCER AT UTAH AND UTAH VALLEY THIS WEEKEND
Rebels play a pair in the Beehive State
The UNLV women’s soccer team (3-1) returns to action this weekend after a rare bye week, with a Friday night contest at Utah at 6:30 pm (PT), followed by a Sunday, Sept. 14 game at Utah Valley at 1 pm (PT).
The Rebels’ last contest was a 3-0 win over Saint Francis on Aug. 31 in Las Vegas. They now begin perhaps the toughest stretch of the season, spending the rest of September on the road with six straight games away from Las Vegas. That road swing begins on Friday with a match at former conference rival Utah, followed by a Sunday, Sept. 14 contest at Utah Valley. This will be the longest stretch of road games in team history, and the first time there has been no home games in the month of September.
It will be a tough challenge for UNLV this weekend as the Utes are undefeated this year at 4-0-1 and are receiving votes in the NSCAA Top-25 poll. This will be the 18th meeting all-time between the two, and UNLV is looking for its first win in Salt Lake City since Oct. 7, 2004. UNLV is 2-0 against Utah Valley all-time.
