UNLV WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STARTS TWO-GAME ROAD SWING WEDNESDAY AT UTAH STATE

Lady Rebels looking for second 5-1 start in Mountain West play in the past three
years

Thanks to its Mountain West high four-game win streak, the UNLV women’s basketball team has moved itself back into a spot to challenge for the top of the conference standings, as the Lady Rebels are one of three teams with just one loss, and trail Colorado State and Fresno State by one win. UNLV will look to keep pace with the leaders and keep the win streak alive with its next game, a road contest on Wednesday night at 6 pm (PT) in Logan, Utah against new league member Utah State.

Wednesday’s game matches up two teams with similar styles on offense, as both squads look to score off the other team’s turnovers. Utah State leads the league in turnover margin at +4.8, while in MW games, UNLV is first at +5.8, while Utah State is again at +4.8. One difference though has been UNLV’s scoring defense, holding three straight opponents under 60 points (54.7 ppg average). Utah State meanwhile has averaged 70.7 ppg the past three games, but has given up 78.3 ppg over that stretch.

Live video of the game will be available on the Mountain West Network at UNLVRebels.com. while the UNLV radio broadcast, featuring the call from Adam Candee, is available on KSHP 1400 AM and also off a link at UNLVRebels.com.
