UNLV LOOKS FOR REVENGE AT FRESNO STATE…

The race for the Mountain West regular season title continues to be the tightest in league history, with four teams tied with 11 wins each while Colorado State is close behind in fifth with 10 wins. With just four dates left in the league slate, Wednesday’s set of games makes the night the biggest of the season, as the top six teams all face each other. That includes the Lady Rebels, currently tied for first place at 11-3, facing the Fresno State Bulldogs (11-4) in Fresno at the Save Mart Center in a 7 pm contest.

The game will be live streamed on the Mountain West with Wyatt Tomchek on the play by play, and there will also be a radio broadcast with the call of Adam Candee. Both will be available through UNLVRebels.com.

UNLV is looking for revenge after falling to the Bulldogs on a last second three-pointer in Las Vegas in January, a loss that had knocked the Lady Rebels out of first place. The Bulldogs hit 12 three-pointers in the game, and they needed every single one to pull out the 74-72 victory. All three of the Lady Rebel losses this season have come against teams that hit double-digits on made three-pointers, as Boise State (12) and Wyoming (14) are the other teams with a win over UNLV in league play this season.

Lady Rebels’ success in the conference this season has been fueled by its outstanding post play. UNLV has outscored its past 12 opponents 416-228 on points in the paint while holding a +8 rebound margin for the 13 contests. The Lady Rebels are also finding their way to the free throw line, and are currently tied for 17th in the nation with 405 made free throws this season.

Wednesday is a homecoming as well for sophomore RJ Wade, a native of Fresno, and senior Brooke Johnson, who grew up in nearby Hanford.
