UNLV WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ON THE ROAD SATURDAY IN KEY MW CONTEST AT FRESNO STATE
Lady Rebels are 3-0 on the road in conference play
The UNLV women’s basketball team comes into Saturday’s game at Fresno State with the longest active win streak in the Mountain West Conference at five games. That has moved the Lady Rebels into a first place tie in the MW standings along with Colorado State at 5-1, and UNLV will be looking for a win against the Bulldogs to stay at the top of league. The game will tip off at 2 pm in the Save Mart Center.
Saturday is also a chance for the Lady Rebels to avenge its only conference loss this season, as UNLV suffered a 79-63 loss to Fresno State in the conference opener on Jan. 1 in Las Vegas. UNLV has not lost since, and the win streak includes a 3-0 mark on the road. A win on Saturday would also give UNLV its best-ever start in MW play, as twice before the team has started out 5-1, with that feat accomplished by the 2003-04 and 2011-12 squads.
UNLV has yet to beat Fresno State in Mountain West action, dropping all three contests over the past two years. The last win by the Lady Rebels was on Jan. 6, 2012 in Las Vegas by a 73-71 score, one year before the Bulldogs would join the MW.
Live video of the game will be available on the Mountain West Network at UNLVRebels.com. while the UNLV radio broadcast is available on KSHP 1400 AM and also off a link at UNLVRebels.com.
