UNLV VOLLEYBALL WELCOMES NEW VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH
2020 Big 12 Setter of the Year, Jhenna Gabriel, to serve as volleyball volunteer assistant coach.
UNLV volleyball head coach Dawn Sullivan added to her coaching staff with volunteer assistant coach hire, Jhenna Gabriel.
Gabriel joins the Rebels after previously announcing her retirement from collegiate volleyball in January of this year. The longtime starting setter for Texas earned all-conference honors over the last three seasons. She was named the Big 12’s setter of the year and an AVCA All-American during the 2020-21 season and left a legacy in the Texas record books with her 3,491 career assists ranking sixth overall. During her last season with the Longhorns, she averaged 9.43 assists per set, served a career-high 22 aces and helped then no. 2 Longhorns to the NCAA Regional Final before falling to Nebraska 3-1.
The Honolulu native spent this summer working with Out of System Volleyball where she traveled cross-country coaching youth clinics and represented the company as an All-American athlete.
Jhenna earned her undergraduate degree in public relations with a minor in business administration from the University of Texas in 2021 and will graduate from UT in August 2022 with a Master’s in Sports Management.
