Libero/defensive specialist earns first career honor; Marks seventh individual weekly award for the Rebels this season

UNLV volleyball’s Isha Knight was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday. It marks the first such honor of her career and the seventh individual weekly award for the Rebels this season.
A libero/defensive specialist from Miliani, Hawaii, Knight helped the Rebels to two road wins last week, marking their second- and third-straight victories. She tallied 21 total digs (2.63 per set), ranking second on the team, while also recording 13 assists.
In the win at New Mexico on Thursday, Knight contributed eight assists, nine digs and a service ace, and in the victory at Air Force, she had a match- and season-high 12 digs.
NEXT FOR UNLV: The Rebels finish out the regular season at home this week with two matches at Cox Pavilion: vs. San Jose State on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. (Disney Day) and UNR on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. (Senior Night). The Mountain West Championship tournament will also be played at the Cox Pavilion, Nov. 24-26.
