MYKANNEN TRAVELS TO OMAHA FOR U.S. OLYMPIC TRIALS
The Rebel men’s freestyle specialist will compete in the 400m free on Sunday

UNLV men’s swimming and diving rising junior Christopher Mykkanen will travel to Omaha to compete on the opening day of Wave II of the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials on Sunday at the CHI Health Center. The meet will serve as the final qualifying step for USA Swimming, which will select the top-2 finishers in each event to represent the country at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
A native of Newport Beach, California, Mykkanen is scheduled to swim in the 400m free during Sunday’s 8 am prelims session with a potential finals round starting at 5 pm. The Rebel freestyle specialist comes into the meet as the 29th seed in the event behind a trial qualifying time of 3:54.10.
