CELIC KICKS OFF COMPETITION FOR REBELS ON DAY TWO OF NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

UNLV’S distance specialist won his heat and finished 29th overall in the 500 free

UNLV men’s swimming and diving’s Vuk Celic kicked off competition with the first of his two scheduled events at the 2021 NCAA Championships in the 500 free Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatics Center.

 

Celic claimed the victory in heat No. 4 of prelims and took 29th overall with a time of 4:17.68. The Rebels’ distance specialist made a late push toward the final touch, storming ahead of the pack with a 25.03 on the last 25 yards – his fastest leg of the day – to crack the top 30.

 

UP NEXT: Celic will continue his week representing UNLV at the 2021 NCAA Championships on Saturday in the 1650 free, with the first heats of timed finals slated to begin right after the 7 am prelims and the last timed final starting at 3 pm.
