UNLV PLACES FIVE ON WAC MEN’S SWIMMING ALL ACADEMIC TEAM
For the second straight year, five members of the UNLV men’s swimming team earned academic honors as the Western Athletic Conference announced its 2013-14 academic all-conference squads on Wednesday afternoon.
Earning repeat academic honors for their careers were juniors Balint Batka and Joe Rigget, both of whom were named MPSF All-Academic Scholar Athlete during the 2012-13 season. First-time honorees include sophomores Lucas James, Henrique Machado and Spenser Sullivan.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.
