UNLV MEN’S SOCCER TOPS CAL BAPTIST 2-1 IN EXHIBITION ACTION
Thanks to a pair of goals, the UNLV men’s soccer team posted a 2-1 win over Cal Baptist in exhibition action on Tuesday night from Peter Johann Memorial Field.
All three goals in the game were scored in the second half. Notching the scores for UNLV was junior Salvador Bernal, off an assist by Joaquin Rivas, and a goal by Julian Portugal thanks to an assist by Jose Mendoza.
UNLV also took advantage of the exhibition to play three goalkeepers, with all three playing one third of the contest. Richard Garness, Abdel Rodriguez and Brad Holub were the trio of Rebels that played in the net.
The Rebels will begin the regular season on Friday, Aug. 30, with a 4 pm (PT) contest at Delaware.
