The UNLV men’s golf team has moved up in the Golfweek Rankings to No. 17 in the country, as the organization’s updated numbers were posted to its website on Monday.

UNLV recently concluded its fall schedule with a second-place finish at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Ala., missing its second team title in four events by just one shot.

The Rebels have a 4-6 record against other top 25 teams this season, while it is 13-11-1 against teams in the top 50 in the rankings.

Junior John Oda is ranked No. 24 in the nation among individuals. He won his second individual title of the year at the JPNI. He now has four career wins, which puts him fifth on the all-time UNLV men’s golf chart for most career individual tournament victories. The only Rebel golfers to record more are Ryan Moore, Warren Schutte, Kevin Penner and Jeremy Anderson.

The Rebels will open the spring season in February in Hawaii at the John Burns Intercollegiate, while Oda will compete in one more collegiate tournament this fall: the Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic in November in El Paso, Texas.
