NO. 23 UNLV MEN’S GOLF LEADS AT JACKRABBIT INVITATIONAL
Rebels are ahead by 17 shots after first two rounds, Jonson leads all individuals at 6-under in Primm, Nev.

The No. 23 UNLV men’s golf team has a 17-shot lead after the first two rounds of the 5th Annual Jackrabbit Invitational, which were played Monday at Primm Valley Golf Club (par-72, 7,131-yard Desert Course) but hosted by South Dakota State.
The Rebels shot an opening-round 13-under 275 and followed that up with a 4-under 284 for a 36-hole total of 559 to lead the 15-team field. Utah Valley is second at even par, followed by Oral Roberts in third at 5-over, Utah State in fourth at 10-over, while South Dakota and Arkansas State are tied for fifth at 18-over.
UNLV junior Carl Jonson leads all individuals at 6-under 138 after rounds of 71 and 67 on Monday. Utah Valley’s Brayden Eriksen is second, one shot back, at 5-under, while Rebel freshman Taylor Montgomery is in a three-way tie for third at 4-under (65-75).
UNLV has three other players in the top-10 as junior Kurt Kitayama is sixth at 3-under (70-71), sophomore Zane Thomas is tied for seventh at 2-under (71-71) and sophomore AJ McInerney is tied for ninth at even par (69-75).
UNLV freshmen Chris Tuulik (75-72) and Redford Bobbitt (77-76) are both playing as individuals and are tied for 19th at 3-over and 52nd at 9-over, respectively.
The tournament has a total of 87 individuals and will wrap up on Tuesday with 18 holes. Live scoring is available through a link at UNLVRebels.com.
