The No. 22 UNLV men’s golf team will compete this weekend at The Goodwin, which will be held Friday-Sunday, March 28-30, at Stanford Golf Course (par 70, 6,727 yards) in Palo Alto, Calif.

Originally named the United States Intercollegiate, the event was recently renamed The Goodwin in honor of former Stanford head coach Wally Goodwin.

The 18-team, 54-hole tournament will consist of 18 holes played each day beginning at 8 a.m. The field will be made up of Colorado State, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Northwestern, Oregon, San Diego State, San José State, host St. Mary’s, Stanford, TCU, UAB, UC Davis, UCLA, UNLV, USC, USF, Washington and Washington State.

The Rebels’ lineup includes junior Kurt Kitayama, junior Carl Jonson, sophomore AJ McInerney, freshman Taylor Montgomery and freshman Redford Bobbitt.

Stanford won last year’s event by six shots at 23-under 217. Individually, TCU’s Paul Barjon earned medalist honors by three shots at 11-under 199. UNLV did not compete in last year’s U.S. Intercollegiate.

UNLV has played in eight tournaments this season with three team victories, including two of the last three. In addition, the Rebels have finished in the top four in five of eight events this year.
