SAVON GOODMAN LEAVES RUNNIN’ REBEL PROGRAM

Sophomore forward expresses his appreciation for the support he had at UNLV

UNLV sophomore forward Savon Goodman has decided to leave the Runnin’ Rebel program, head coach Dave Rice said Friday.

“I have enjoyed my time at UNLV and am thankful for the support of the fans, my teammates and coaches since I have been here,” Goodman said. “However, I have felt a lot of pressure the last few months. I feel it is best for me to leave the program at this time. Even though I am from Philadelphia, I will always think of Las Vegas as another home.”

As a freshman in 2012-13, Goodman appeared in 27 games for the Runnin’ Rebels, playing in just over nine minutes per contest. He averaged 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.3 percent from the field.

“I respect Savon’s decision and will always be here to support him,” Rice said. “I wish him all the best.”

Goodman came to UNLV from Constitution High School in Philadelphia.
