After defeating Alaska Fairbanks 97-73 on Nov. 3 in its lone exhibition game, the UNLV men’s basketball team will open the regular season Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. Florida A&M at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Designated Heroes Night, the game will take place on Veterans Day and include special recognitions and features honoring those that serve our country and protect our city. Plus, the first 300 fans through the door will receive a voucher for a free popcorn. In addition, the first 100 students will receive a free t-shirt.

The 2017-18 season marks the second under head coach Marvin Menzies for the Runnin’ Rebels. Menzies and his staff have brought in a recruiting class for this year that has been ranked as high as No. 12 in the country and features McDonald’s High School All-American Brandon McCoy and National Junior College Player of the Year Shakur Juiston.
The Runnin’ Rebels return their leading scorer from last season – senior guard Jovan Mooring. Mooring averaged 12.6 points per game in 2016-17 and led the team in assists with 4.0 apg (second in the Mountain West).
