RUNNIN’ REBELS CLOSE OUT HOMESTAND SATURDAY AT 4 PM
UNLV men’s basketball to host UT Martin at Thomas & Mack Center
The UNLV men’s basketball team will close out its season-opening six-game homestand on Saturday, Nov. 30, against UT Martin at 4 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center. That is a game-time change from the previously scheduled time of 7 p.m. The game was moved up three hours because of television setting the UNLV football game time for that day for 7:30 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium against San Diego State.
The Runnin’ Rebels have lost their last two outings by a combined eight points – 86-80 to Arizona State on Nov. 19 and 61-59 to Illinois on Tuesday. Prior to the game vs. the Sun Devils, UNLV defeated Omaha, 73-70, on Nov. 15. Runnin’ Rebel junior forward Roscoe Smith, who leads the nation in rebounding average with 15.6 rpg, has recorded double-figure rebounding totals in all five of UNLV’s games this season, while junior forward Khem Birch, who is second in the country in blocked shots with 5.2 per contest, has had double-figure rebounding totals in four of its five contests and has blocked at least four shots in a game in all but one this season.
Saturday’s game will be televised in Las Vegas on Cox 96 with Steve Quis and Brad Holland calling the action. The video stream will be available at UNLVRebels.com outside of Las Vegas. Jon Sandler and Robert Smith will handle the radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM. A listen link as well as Gametracker will also be available at UNLVRebels.com.
