Fresh off a weekend series sweep against MW foes San Diego State, the UNLV Rebels will venture back into Mountain West play to host the Air Force Falcons three times at Earl E. Wilson Stadium this weekend. The first game of the conference tilt is scheduled to start at 6:05 p.m. Friday, followed by Saturday at 1:05 p.m., and the series finale is set for Sunday at 12:05 p.m.
The Rebels (9-8, 3-0 MW) are coming into the weekend after going 3-1 this last week, sweeping the Aztecs in a three-game series but falling to California Baptist during a single-game contest Monday. The Falcons (6-9, 1-1 MW) are coming into the series with a 2-3 record over the weekend, winning a three-game series over Minnesota (8-7, 15-6, 6-7) but dropping a two-game, nonconference series to Oklahoma (4-10, 7-8).
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
UNLV and Air Force have squared off a total of 144 times with the first meeting taking place in Las Vegas in 1969. The Rebels own a 66-game lead in the head-to-head series, notching 105 wins to 39 losses. The Scarlet & Gray won the last series – 12-9, 11-4, 6-8, on May 1-2, 2021 in Las Vegas.

ON DECK
UNLV will head over to the Golden State Tuesday, to take on Big West’s UC Riverside in a single-game midweek contest, before heading up to San Jose for a three-game conference series against San Jose State March 25-27.
REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARD
– Gianni Horvat received the first weekly award for the Rebels, being named the MW Freshman of the Week following the Rebels’ perfect weekend on the road (3-0) in San Diego February 28. He batted .571 with four hits, one run second, one RBI and a walk.
– Edarian Williams continued the weekly honors streak, earning MW Player of the Week, March 7, after helping UNLV to a 2-2 record last week, batting .474 with nine hits, six RBIs, four runs scored and a walk. He was one double shy of hitting for the cycle against Cal Poly M
– Conner Woods claimed pitcher of the week this week after he picked up his first win of the season in Saturday’s 4-3 victory over SDSU. The right-hander senior from Tempe, Arizona, pitched four shutout innings in relief, striking out four. Woods has made two appearances this season and posted a 0.00 ERA.
– Santino Panaro also claimed MW weekly honors this week, after having a season high two RBI for the Rebels. Panaro went 1-for-1 at the plate during Saturday’s contest against the Aztecs, scoring one run to help UNLV sweep SDSU at San Diego for the first time since May 2007. The true freshman started in his first game for the Scarlet & Gray during Sunday’s series finale, scoring one run and ending the week batting a .333.
LEADERS IN THE MOUNTAIN WEST
– UNLV currently stands atop the conference with a 3-0 conference record.
– The Rebels sit second overall in batting and fielding with a .302 batting average and 0.975 FLD%.
– Rylan Charles is tied for first in hits with 30 and sacrifice flies with 3, he also sits second for doubles (9) and third for RBI (16).
– Joey Walls sits second for OPS (1.109), Henry Ziesler sits third for slugging percentage (.614), Diego Alarcon ranks second for runs scored (19) and third in doubles (7) and Austin Kryszczuk is currently third for runs scored (17).
PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online before game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6.
All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV’s new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
