REBELS TO PLAY AT LAS VEGAS BALLPARK TUESDAY

The UNLV baseball team will take on Pac-12’s Arizona State for a single-game, nonconference midweek contest at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin, Tuesday with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
The Rebels (15-9, 8-1 MW) are coming into this week’s affair after going 3-1 this last week, winning their Tuesday contest against UC Riverside (6-2) and taking the series over San Jose State, 2-1, (14-11, 5-8, 12-4). The Sun Devils (11-14, 3-3 Pac-12) are coming into Tuesday’s affair after dropping a single-game contest against GCU, 7-5, but winning the series over Washington, 2-1, (12-5, 5-3, 4-6 (11 inn.)).
FIRST PITCH
Erick Harper, Director of Athletics for UNLV, will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch Tuesday evening.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
UNLV and ASU have squared off a total of 86 times with the first meeting taking place in Phoenix, Arizona in 1974. The Sun Devils own a 43-game lead in the head-to-head series, notching 64 wins to 21 losses, however, the Scarlet & Gray won the last game played in 2021 at Phoenix (10-9).

UNLV will head over to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a three-game series at Santa Ana Star Field against the Lobos beginning Friday at 6 p.m. (MT).
BACK AT THE EARL
The Rebels will return to Las Vegas and Earl E. Wilson Stadium for a single-game, nonconference contest against UC Riverside Tuesday, April 5. UNLV will play back-to-back home games April 5-24 with series against UNR, San Jose State, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico and a single-game contest against Dixie State April 12.
REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARD
– Gianni Horvat received the first weekly award for the Rebels, being named the MW Freshman of the Week following the Rebels’ perfect weekend on the road (3-0) in San Diego February 28.
– Edarian Williams continued the weekly honors streak, earning MW Player of the Week, March 7.
– Conner Woods claimed pitcher of the week, March 14 after he picked up his first win of the season in a 4-3 victory over SDSU.
– Santino Panaro claimed Freshman of the Week, March 14, after having a season high two RBI for the Rebels. Panaro also claimed the Freshman weekly honors, March 28, after helping the Rebels to a 3-1 week, including a series win over MW foes San Jose State.
– Braden Murphy earned Freshman of the Week weekly honors after helping the Rebels to a sweep over Air Force, March 21.
– Diego Alarcon earned Player of the Week weekly honors today after helping the Rebels to a 3-1 week, including a series win over MW foes San Jose State.
LEADERS IN THE MW AND THE NATION
-UNLV is currently tied for fourth in the nation, with Texas, for hits (281) and for doubles (65), sits sixth overall for doubles per game (2.71), eighth for triples (11) ranked 15 in the nation for batting with a .317, notching 281 hits after 24 games and ranked 24th for slugging percentage (.510).
– UNLV currently stands atop the conference with an 8-1 conference record. The last time the UNLV baseball team was 7-0 in conference play was back in 1988.
– The Rebels currently lead the conference in batting with a .317 average, 197 runs scored, 281 hits and 179 RBI.
– Rylan Charles ranks 13th in the national and is tied for first in the MW for hits with 40, leads the conference in sacrifice flies with 4 and at bats (107), is seventh for batting average (.374), third in doubles (11), sixth for runs scored (23) and eighth for RBI (23).
– Kryszczuk ranks seventh nationally and second in the MW for doubles (13), is tied for second in tripes (2), sits sixth in at bats (80) and in OPS (1.059), ninth in batting average (.347) and in slugging percentage (.589) and tied for fourth in hits (33).
– Henry Ziesler leads the MW in on-base percentage (0.514), sits second in batting average (.398), slugging percentage (.687) and OPS (1.201), tied for first in triples (3), fifth in RBI (23) and tied for fourth in hits (33).
– Joey Walls sits third for batting average (.390) and slugging percentage (.675), fourth in OPS (1.137) and ninth in doubles (8).
– Diego Alarcon sits second for runs scored (28), tied for second in at bats (102), tied for fourth in doubles (9) and tied for third in hits (28).
– Edarian Williams is tied for second in walks (14), tied for third in doubles (6), tied for fourth in hits (27), tied for fifth in RBI (21) and ninth in OPS (1.004).
PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online before game day can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6.
All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV’s new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
