The UNLV baseball team will hit the road to the Golden State for three games in Mountain West play against the San Diego State Aztecs in San Diego, California, at Tony Gwynn Stadium, followed by a nonconference, single-game against Cal Baptist Monday.

The conference-opening series begins Friday evening with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday’s contest is also a night affair (6 p.m.), while Sunday’s is an afternoon matinee (1 p.m.)

The Rebels and the Aztecs were predicted to finish 2-3 in the MW Preseason Coaches Poll. SDSU, who finished the 2021 campaign with a 30-16 overall record and second-place showing (22-14) in the conference standings, have lost three of the last four to carry a 4-8 mark into this weekend’s series. The Rebels, on the other hand, have also lost three of their last four games and sit 6-7 on the year after going 20-13 last season with a third-place league finish (15-12).
