REBELS BEGIN HOMESTAND WITH VISIT FROM UTAH

UNLV baseball returns to Las Vegas this week to begin a six-game homestand at Earl E. Wilson Stadium with a contest against Utah Tuesday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. The Scarlet & Gray will also welcome Cal Poly and Utah Valley to town starting Friday.
UNLV (4-3) enters the midweek affair coming off a perfect weekend on the road, 3-0. Utah (4-1-1) went 2-1 in San Diego against Mountain West teams, taking the single-game contest over Fresno State (2-1) but tying the two-game series against San Diego State (1-1).

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING
UNLV and Utah have squared off a total of 137 times with the first meeting taking place at home in 1969. The Rebels hold a 90-47 overall mark in the series and have won the last three contests and five of the last eight dating back to 2010.

UNLV will continue the six-game homestand with a three-game series against Cal Poly beginning Friday with first pitch set for 6:05 p.m., followed by a two-game contest against Utah Valley starting Monday at 6:05 p.m.
REBELS CLAIM WEEKLY AWARD
Gianni Horvat received the first weekly award for the Rebels, being named the MW Freshman of the Week following the Rebels’ perfect weekend on the road (3-0) in San Diego this past weekend.
The Valencia, California native started in Sunday’s game against USD, but played in all three games as shortstop for the Scarlet & Gray. He batted .363 (4-for-11) for the weekend with four hits, one run scored and one walk. Defensively, he averaged one assist per game over the three games.
As shortstop, Horvat did not commit an error in three chances for the weekend, finishing with a clean 1.000 fielding percentage.
PURCHASE TICKETS
Single-game ticket prices this season are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $5 to groups of 15 or more. Fans that purchase tickets online up to three hours prior to first pitch can get them for an advanced single-game price of $6.
All high school, middle school and elementary students are free under UNLV’s new admission policy. To receive free admission, high school students must present valid Nevada are school I.D. at the box office on gameday for one (1) complimentary ticket. Current UNLV students will receive free admission with a valid school I.D. All other students will receive a complimentary ticket at the box office (no I.D. required). Kids not yet elementary school age will continue to receive free admission for all UNLV Olympic sports.
