UNLV ATHLETICS’ “SEATS FOR SERVICE” PROGRAM EXPANDS
Previously directed to just members of the U.S. Armed Forces, project will now also provide tickets to first responders and community heroes
The UNLV Athletics Department has announced plans to expand its “Seats For Service” program for the 2020-21 seasons to also include first responders and community heroes.
Launched in 2019, “Seats for Service” allowed members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families the opportunity to attend Rebel sporting events for free thanks to contributions from UNLV fans. Fans will still be able to make contributions in $10 increments through the UNLV Ticket Office, which will now enable tickets to be provided to a deserving military member, first responder or community hero.
During the campaign’s first year in 2019-20, 600 tickets were contributed to military servicemen and servicewomen.
“Seats for Service has been a wonderful way for us to show our appreciation to the men and women in our armed forces,” said UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois. “As everyone has felt the impact of the current COVID-19 crisis, we are expanding the program to include community members who are fighting against this disease along the front lines.
“This program would not exist without the support of our great fans and we thank them as we give back to those that serve Southern Nevada in a variety of important ways.”
Fans wishing to participate can make their contribution through the UNLV ticket office online by clicking here or by phone at 702-895-2958.
