United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council Celebrated
“ReOpening” of the Medical Clinic at Reynaldo Martinez Elementary School

On Tuesday, February 11, United Way of Southern Nevada’s (UWSN) Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) celebrated the reopening of the Medical Clinic at Reynaldo Martinez Elementary School with a ribbon cutting and a tour of the facility. Operated by a local non-profit, Positively Kids, this critical community resource will increase students’ access to health care and will serve over 2,500 students at Reynaldo Martinez Elementary School. The clinic will help a wide demographic of children including those who are homeless or live in cars that have no access to health care.
“The Reynaldo Martinez Elementary School Clinic did not have enough funds to open this year,” said Nancy Reel, WLC Project Co-chair. “This left a huge void in this school community as it has served many, many families in the past.”
According to Fred Schultz the Founder and CEO of Positively Kids, the support of WLC is critical to reopening the clinic.
“Without the Women’s Leadership Council, we couldn’t open this clinic, it wouldn’t survive,” said Schultz.
