WHAT: United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) hosts its 4th Annual Women’s Leadership Luncheon at Caesars Palace on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 11:30 a.m. The event includes an exclusive DONNA KARAN NEW YORK (DKNY) fashion show, featuring WLC members as the models. Punam Mathur, NV Energy vice president of employee and community engagement and Calvert Collins, 8 News NOW reporter, serve as this year’s co-hosts.
The Women’s Leadership Luncheon is a fundraiser to support the efforts of WLC, engage female leaders in serving the community and recognize individuals who have made a commitment to improve Southern Nevada. This year’s honorees include Karla Perez, vice president-acute division, group vice president of Universal Health Services, Inc.; Ruby Collins, executive director of Variety Early Learning Center; Nancy Wong, executive vice president, Administration of Arcata Associates; Shannon West Redwine, advocate for the homeless; and community leader Judy Kropid.
The event showcases the organization’s dedication to uplifting women in Southern Nevada through efforts such as the annual suit drive. Denise Gee, Director of the Work Opportunities Readiness Center at HELP of Southern Nevada will bring to light how one donation of professional attire along with guidance can help change a life. She will share empowering stories from her career serving women in need.

ABOUT: The Women’s Leadership Council, co-chaired by Cindy Brinker and Shelley Dubin, brings local female leaders to the front line to address the community’s most pressing needs. The Women’s Leadership Council commits an annual, individual investment of $2,500 or more to United Way of Southern Nevada. Members enjoy benefits such as participation in meaningful leadership and educational activities, hands-on volunteer involvement, executive level networking opportunities and visible recognition as a female leader and philanthropist. Since its inception in 2007, the Women’s Leadership Council membership has rapidly grown to more than 100 members.
