United Way of Southern Nevada Appoints Nicole Mastrangelo
Director of Young Philanthropists Society
United Way of Southern Nevada announces Nicole Mastrangelo as its new director of Young Philanthropists Society (YPS).
Mastrangelo plans to build awareness and increase membership for YPS through networking programs and community outreach projects. She has a strong background in program implementation with her previous work at United Way and the development of the Vegas Young Professionals at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. Prior to becoming YPS director, she served as a development officer for the nonprofit and held fundraising positions at The Shade Tree, Nevada Public Radio and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
“As a native of Las Vegas, it feels great knowing that United Way supports hundreds of local nonprofits and that YPS has a hands-on approach to addressing our community’s issues, especially at the elementary school level,” said Mastrangelo.
YPS consists of leaders in their 20s to 40s who make a minimum $1,500 donation to United Way of Southern Nevada, volunteer their time and talent to create a stronger community and are committed to networking and building relationships in order to make a difference. Over the past two years, the group has focused its efforts on Hollingsworth Elementary School, impacting 740 students with 300 hours of volunteering, 24 service projects and fundraising totaling $250,000.
For more information on YPS, please contact Nicole Mastrangelo at [email protected].
