On Jan. 21, 2014 Union Village, LLC purchased around 170 gross acres of land located at the northeast corner of US 93/95 and Galleria Drive from the City of Henderson, which will be used to construct the world’s first Integrated Health Village. Immediately following the purchase, Union Village sold 38.5 acres of the land to The Valley Health System who will use the acreage to develop an acute care hospital within the health care complex.
Called Union Village, the visionary model for health care will offer a world-class hospital complex and health center, residential, entertainment and specialty retail space, a vibrant senior retirement community and a civic and cultural arts center integrated into a master-planned community.
“Obviously we are pleased that this project has taken such a significant step forward,” said Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen. “Union Village is a project that will not only provide state-of-the-art health care to thousands of Nevadans, it will also provide important jobs to support our community. We are excited for this important milestone and look forward to their continued progress.”
“We are grateful to Mayor Hafen, the City Council members and the City of Henderson staff for sharing our vision of developing the world’s first Integrated Health Village and for their unwavering support of our project through this protracted process,” remarked Union Village Managing Partner David Baker. “We are also very thankful to Karla Perez and the entire team at The Valley Health System for their leadership as our healthcare partner. We look forward to breaking ground and creating thousands of jobs for the state of Nevada. With this important step, the vision of Union Village as a world-class health care center is on its way to becoming a reality.”
The project is expected to generate 17,000 jobs and billions of dollars in tax revenues for the local and state economies. The result will be an architecturally pleasing, technologically innovative and environmentally sustainable master-planned health village as a center of excellence for the Las Vegas community and the state of Nevada. Union Village will feature state-of-art patient-centric technology and design in a compelling live, learn, work and play environment.
