WHO: Sugar Factory is gearing up for the Big Game with a weekend full of all-star meet-and-greets with some gridiron greats. Autograph and photo opportunities are available.
Rod Martin is an all-pro linebacker who played in the National Football League for the Oakland / Los Angeles Raiders from 1977 to 1988. He is best known for his record three interceptions in Super Bowl XV, which put him on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and he has been to the Pro Bowl twice.
Willie Gault is a former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the NFL for 11 seasons with the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Raiders. Considered one of the fastest NFL players of all-time, Gault was a member of the Bears team that won Super Bowl XX. Gault finished his 11 NFL seasons with 333 receptions for 6,635 yards. He also returned 9 punts for 60 yards, rushed for 154 yards, returned 45 kickoffs for 1,088 yards, and scored 45 touchdowns (44 receiving and 1 kickoff return), and helped organize his 1985 Chicago Bears teammates to perform the “Super Bowl Shuffle,” hit song that raised money for charity.
Ottis Anderson is a former football running back who played in the NFL for 14 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Giants. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, where he set the school record for rushing yards, and was selected eighth overall in the 1979 NFL Draft by the Cardinals. In his first season, Anderson was named Offensive Rookie of the Year and received Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors when he set the Cardinals all-time record for rushing yards. He also received a second Pro Bowl selection the following year. Traded to the Giants in 1986, Anderson won two Super Bowl titles in Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXV. Anderson was named MVP of the latter, in which he played a central part of the Giants ball-control offense that set the Super Bowl record for time of possession.
