UNLV Athletics has announced numerous promotions for this Friday’s men’s basketball game vs. Fresno State at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The 8 p.m. contest on Feb. 3, which is presented by Toyota, will feature multiple giveaways for UNLV students, including free tuition for a semester, free T-shirts (500), free Future concert tickets and free chicken wings at the pregame Rebel Fest. UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield will be at the controls of the Findlay Toyota T-Shirt Cannon for the second straight year with one shirt containing the free-tuition prize, which will be shot toward the student section during the second half. The game is also a part of the season-long 50% Off Fridays promotion with half-price hot dogs available during this Friday’s game. Although the free food during the pregame Rebel Fest tailgate at Tark Plaza is for students only, the public is invited to attend the event, which starts at 6 p.m. and also includes a live DJ and inflatables. Season ticket holders who qualified for the complimentary Nike shoes may pick them up beginning at 6 p.m. Friday night. Details will be emailed directly to eligible season ticket holders. In addition, new UNLV volleyball head coach Malia Shoji will be introduced and featured as the pregame “Lights, Please” announcer. The Runnin’ Rebels (15-7 overall, 4-6 Mountain West) have won three straight games and are looking to avenge its loss at Fresno State, which occurred on Jan. 21. Tickets for Friday’s game may be purchased online at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS (3267) or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center Box Office.
