Small handful of grapes (seedless red or green)
1/4 lemon with peel
1/4 tangelo or orange (with or without peel)
2 apple slices with peel
1-2 teaspoons Pines Wheat Grass or Pines Mighty Greens Superfood Blend
1-2 droppers full of Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil
A few fresh raspberries or blueberries (can use frozen)
A quick squeeze of honey (as desired}
A couple of big strawberries
Filtered and purified water
Combine and blend in individual serving blender until desired consistency and then serve over a little ice. Great tasting and good for you as well.

Wheat grass is simply the young wheat plant. At this stage of its growth, the green leafy plant has the look, taste, and nutrient profile of other leafy green vegetables (spinach, kale, chard, etc.). As the plant approaches the jointing stage (in the early spring for winter wheat), these nutrients reach their peak levels. Pines harvests the grass at this special, once-a-year time and carefully dries and bottles it to provide these important nutrients to everyone.

Pines Wheat Grass contains a large quantity of vegetable fiber (twice the fiber of bran), and is used by many to normalize colon health. It is a particularly rich source of chlorophyll, the “green blood” of plants, which is structurally similar to blood hemoglobin. Chlorophyll has traditionally been valued for its wound healing, antiseptic and cleansing properties. Research has shown it to be detoxifying and deodorizing. The nutrients found in wheat grass may be especially beneficial for those with an overtaxed immune system, especially if the weakened immune system is due to a diet lacking in deep green, leafy vegetables.

Wheat grass is one of the best food sources of beta-carotene, which is converted by the body to Vitamin A. Though synthetic Vitamin A has some questions swirling around it, natural beta-carotene is non-toxic. As an antioxidant, it is thought to protect the body against some types of cancer and is beneficial to the immune system. Wheat grass is also a source of iron, folic acid, and Vitamin B-12, all necessary for healthy red blood cells and immunity. It also contains over 20% vegetable protein, as well as Vitamin C and a variety of trace minerals – all of which are vital to immune health.

Mighty Greens Superfood Blend Powder is neither better nor worse, but different. It Mighty Greens contains both wheat grass and alfalfa grass, as well as 2 other ingredients that combine to give it a sweeter taste, and reportedly a quicker boost of energy for some people who take it. It tends to be used in place of sports drinks, or as a midday snack. Nutritionally it is about equivalent to PINES Wheat Grass by serving size, but the serving size is about twice as big, and costs a bit more. For your daily dose of greens, we recommend the pure wheat grass or barley grass, simply because they offer more nutrients per penny. But as a healthy alternative to coffee (even “decaffeinated” coffee has caffeine, just not as much), or sports drinks laced with high-fructose corn syrup, Mighty Greens is awesome!
