The Psychedelic Furs and The Fixx Come to Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip New Years Day

WHAT: The Psychedelic Furs and The Fixx come to the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip January 1st, 2013.

English post-punk rockers, The Furs, were founded in the late 70s and by the mid’80s; the band became a staple on modern rock radio as they began experiencing mainstream success. The English band won over fans and critics alike by combining poetic lyrics, innovative rhythms and melodies driven by an aggressive, punk desperation. The band gained international stardom in 1986 when they recorded a sax-infused version of “Pretty in Pink” for the soundtrack of the movie with the same name. Released as a single, “Pretty in Pink” it became their biggest hit to that time in the U.S. The Furs’ steady chart success continued for over a decade. The band went on an extended hiatus in the early 90s and brothers Richard and Tim Butler created a new band called Love Spit Love. After spending most of the decade apart, the Butlers reignited The Psychedelic Furs in 2000 and released a live album Beautiful Chaos: Greatest Hits Live. Currently the band continues to tour the world.

English Rock Band, The Fixx formed in London in 1979 by a couple of college friends. The early to mid 80s marked several Top Ten Billboard hits for the band including “Saved by Zero,” and “One Thing Leads to Another,” both of which cracked the US Top 40. The band has just released their tenth studio album, Beautiful Friction, which finds the Fixx sharper than ever. The songs recorded for the album are a high point in the band’s already heralded history.
