The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces a fascinating public program providing an inside look at New York’s Colombo crime family. Taking place on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., “Blood and Betrayal: “Crazy Sal” Polisi’s Life in the New York Mafia” will include a riveting presentation by the former crime family associate. Polisi will delve deep into gripping stories of loyalty, deception and a fateful decision that forever altered his destiny.
As a participant in high-stakes hijackings, bank robberies and other daring operations, Polisi earned a reputation as a ruthless operator in New York’s mob scene. He founded his own Mafia-run gambling den, the Sinatra Club, a notorious hangout for infamous figures such as John Gotti, Jimmy Burke and Henry Hill. But when law enforcement began closing in, Polisi faced a gut-wrenching choice: remain loyal to his Mafia brothers or cooperate with the feds, risking his life and his family’s safety.
Through this exclusive conversation, moderated by Geoff Schumacher, vice president of exhibits and programs at The Mob Museum, Polisi will candidly recount his criminal exploits, reflect on the moment he chose to leave the life behind and discuss the impact it had on his family. His story offers a rare insider’s view of the Mafia’s inner workings and a distinctive perspective on the dangerous game of survival in a world where betrayal is a constant companion.
Following the presentation, guests will have the opportunity to meet Polisi during a book signing of his memoir, “The Sinatra Club,” which details his time as a trusted Mob enforcer and his journey toward redemption.
