Open to all ticketed Museum visitors, Calabrese Jr. delivers an extraordinary behind-the-scenes look at his life in the Mob and role in one of the FBI’s most triumphant organized crime investigations and trials –Operation Family Secrets.
“Frank provides a captivating, firsthand account of one of the most significant organized crime takedowns in American history,” said Ashley Miller, vice president of marketing, communications and sales, The Mob Museum. “His story of the Chicago Outfit, his father’s misdeeds and his own transformation continues to resonate deeply with our visitors—always drawing a crowd of guests eager to hear about his astonishing life experiences.”
Standing out as one of the most captivating figures in mob history, Calabrese Jr.’s remarkable story and tumultuous journey within the Chicago Outfit, dominated by his father the notorious enforcer Frank Calabrese Sr., continually draws significant crowds inside the Museum. A highlight of many visits to the Museum, guests continue to rave about Calabrese Jr. leaving written feedback such as, “I really liked hearing Frank Calabrese Jr. talk about his experience. Having him there to tell his story was unexpected and unplanned, but it brought all that we learned in the Museum to life.”
In 1998, Calabrese Jr. made a life-altering decision to break away from the mob and become an informant. His courageous letter to the Chicago FBI field office sparked a groundbreaking seven-year investigation, leading to the historic Operation Family Secrets. This operation dismantled the upper echelons of the Chicago Outfit, including his own father. Calabrese Jr.’s transformation from mobster to government informant is a powerful saga of courage and justice. His riveting presentations not only unravel the dark web of organized crime but also delve into the complex dynamics of family loyalty and the quest for redemption.
