A MATTER OF TASTE: MAY 2012
A CULINARY CELEBRATION – THE FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS MAKES ITS
20TH MILESTONE ANNIVERSARY MARK ON VEGAS UNCORK’D
This month, Las Vegas welcomes Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appétit, a unique, four-day culinary extravaganza. Without question, the highlight of this foodie celebration is the Grand Tasting event on Friday, May 11. In honor of The Forum Shops 20th anniversary milestone and for the first time ever, six restaurants representing The Forum Shops at Caesars will showcase their specialties in A Taste of The Forum at the Grand Tasting.  Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, Max Brenner – Chocolate by the Bald Man,  P.J. Clarke’s, The Palm-Las Vegas, Spago and Sushi Roku will be participating at the picturesque Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace during the destination-wide culinary event.
Enjoy Petite Beef Tenderloin and Bacon-Wrapped Scallops from Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, Filet and Crab Cake Sliders from The Palm – Las Vegas and Big Eye Tuna courtesy of Sushi Roku. P.J. Clarke’s is featuring prime flat iron steak shabu style and the famed Spago is serving Farmers’ Market Cantaloupe Melon Carpaccio and Farmers’ Market English Pea Agnolotti.
Roman handmaidens will welcome guests at The Forum Shops distinctive booth located within the Grand Tasting event encouraging registration to win a $500, $1,000 or $2,000 luxury shopping spree at The Forum Shops.
Set amidst the dazzling and dramatic five-acre Garden of the Gods pool oasis at Caesars Palace, the Grand Tasting will feature more than 50 award-winning chefs and more than 100 of the best wines and spirits from around the world. Guests at the evening event will enjoy a staggering variety of signature dishes prepared by the city’s most celebrated chefs. Please visit www.vegasuncorked.com to purchase tickets to the Grand Tasting or for more information.
Additionally, in honor of the 20th anniversary of Wolfgang Puck’s Spago inside The Forum Shops, Bon Appétit Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport and pioneering chef Wolfgang Puck are set to co-host a spectacular four-course, wine-pairing lunch to celebrate the milestone anniversary of Spago at The Forum Shops at Caesars on May 10, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Credited with igniting the fine dining revolution in Las Vegas, Puck made his debut in 1992 with the opening of Spago.  This bold move marked a departure from the oversized buffets of old Las Vegas and traditional casino dining rooms, paving the way for other celebrity chefs to open signature restaurants of their own, transforming Las Vegas into the worldwide culinary destination it is now.
To celebrate the restaurant’s 20th anniversary and the dining landscape of Las Vegas today, the master chef and Bon Appétit will host this exclusive event to kick off the sixth annual Vegas Uncork’d extravaganza.  The lunch will also feature Spago’s first Executive Chef David Robins and Spago’s current Executive Chef Eric Klein.  While enjoying an impressive meal prepared by the trio of chefs, guests also will hear candid personal anecdotes including Wolfgang’s memories of his first night opening in Las Vegas.
Space is limited for this intimate lunch gathering and tickets are available today for purchase at www.vegasuncorked.com. Ticket price is $150 per person.

Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon. P.J. Clarke’s has stood for Social Networking before there was a Social Network.
In Sin City, the story continues as the majestic ‘Phoenix’ bar, formerly part of the Rothschild Estate, is the fitting centerpiece of P.J. Clarke’s at The Forum Shops at Caesars. Above it, an expansive, Vegas-sized wall of televisions makes sure no game is missed. Comfy red leather banquettes, walls lined with vintage photos and hardwood accents all contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.’s.
