THE COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGAS BRINGS A TASTE OF COCKTAIL CULTURE TO THE SIXTH ANNUAL PEBBLE BEACH FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, The Strip’s dynamic luxury resort, is once again participating in Pebble Beach Food & Wine, presented by FOOD & WINE Magazine, April 4 through 7, 2013. In addition to exclusive offers and branded gifts at the event registration tent throughout the weekend, The Cosmopolitan will be serving up a taste of its innovative cocktail program, helmed by mixologist Mariena Mercer, with the following festival events:

PLAY
What:   Lucky #7 at the Celebrity Chef & Winemaker Golf Tournament
When: Thursday, April 4, 8am – 2:30pm
Where: Pebble Beach Golf Links

The Cosmopolitan takes over the 7th hole with custom-crafted cocktails for both morning and afternoon. Golfers can begin a day of play with a Café Ole with Patron Café, coffee spiced with Abuelita Chocolate, Horchata, cream de cacao and Aztec chocolate bitters; and in the afternoon, sip the Tea Off, a mix of Ron Zacapa Rum, eight spice syrup, Opus Rouge Roobios Tea, ruby port wine, fig preserves and candied ginger.

The Cosmopolitan will welcome guests to the festival with Mercer’s hand-crafted cocktails. Visitors to the pavilion throughout the weekend will experience the resort’s award-winning cocktails like the playful Cereal Killer with bourbon, Amaro Melleti, Cinnamon Toast Crunch-infused milk and old fashion bitters; and the forward-thinking 63rd Chromosome with Belvedere Pink Grapefruit, sweet ginger purée, lemongrass syrup, lemon juice, and ruby red grapefruit juice with a float of Goslings beer.

PARTY

When: Friday, April 5, 9pm – 2am
Where: The Inn at Spanish Bay

The celebration of world-class food, beverage and golf continues late into the night at the official After Hours Party. The Cosmopolitan’s mixologist will be crafting libations like the Verbena with blanco tequila, yuzu sour, ginger syrup, lemon verbena leaves and a Szechuan button [a naturally-occurring bud that literally shocks the mouth]; and the Ninth Life with rum, eight spice syrup, fresh apple juice, yuzu sour, coconut zingiber rooibos tea and candied ginger.

TASTE
What: Raising the Bar – Mixology Lunch
When: Saturday, April 6, 12pm – 2:30pm
Where: Restaurant 1833

Mariena Mercer and restaurant 1833 mixologist Michael Lay joins an array of rising chefs  to create a multi-course lunch, pairing spirited cuisine with the resort’s inspired cocktails. Paired dishes include Chef Abram Bissell’s Beet & Goat Cheese Lollipop with Mercer’s Mother of Pearl made from Bombay Sapphire East, yuzu sour, lemongrass and kaffir leaf syrup; Chef David LeFreve’s Roasted Monkfish with Mercer’s Divine Comedy—Buffalo Trace Bourbon, lemon juice, fennel orange preserve, applewood smoked maple syrup and apple cider with a candied blood orange garnish; and Chef Levi Mezick’s Grilled Wagyu and Farro Risotto with  Mercer’s Swan Song, a mix of Barcardi 8, chai-infused Punta Mes, Amaro Meletti, and a fig, cinnamon, cayenne and carrot shrub; Chef Hedy Goldsmith’s Goat’s Milk Yogurt Panna Cotta with Lay’s Pilgrimage Milk Punch made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Anejo Rum, Batavia arrack and cardamom and vanilla spiced milk tea.

What:   Happy Hour at the Fire Pits

The excitement of professional golf meets the luxury of Las Vegas with an exclusive happy hour by The Cosmopolitan. Sweeping views of Spanish Bay provide a stunning backdrop for the party while DJ Posso Universe provides the soundtrack.
