The Clark County Medical Society Honors First Responders, Nurses, and Medical Nonprofits
Nominations are now open for the 2024 Winged Heart Awards, Deadline May 31
The Clark County Medical Society (CCMS) is now accepting nominations for its eleventh annual Winged Heart Awards. Established in 2013 by former CCMS President Dr. George Alexander to honor nurses, health-focused nonprofit organizations, and first responders in Clark County. The public can submit nominations through May 31, 2024 at https://clarkcountymedical.org/winged-heart-awards/ .
“The Winged Heart Awards are an opportunity for us to come together as a community and recognize the incredible dedication of our local nurses, nonprofits, and first responders,” said Dr. Alexander. “We encourage residents of Southern Nevada to submit a nomination for someone who has made an impact on their life.
While many health care awards honor doctors and executives, the Winged Heart Awards ask the community to nominate outstanding nurses, health-related nonprofit organizations and first responders. The nominations are then reviewed by the Clark County Medical Society’s immediate past president, current president and president-elect to arrive at an honoree in each category.
Criteria to be nominated are: Nurses currently affiliated with local practice or hospital and must provide a necessary service to patients on an inpatient or outpatient basis. A nonprofit nominee must be a registered 501(c)(3) whose mission is to provide outstanding medical/healthcare work and promotes wellness within Clark County. First responders must be currently working in Clark County.
2/CCMS 2024-Winged Heart Awards winners are selected by CCMS’ Presidents’ Committee that includes Dr. George Alexander (2012-13 president), Dr. Mitchell Forman (2023-2024 president), Dr. Zoltan Mari (2023-2024 president-elect), and Dr. Nicholas Fiore (2022-2023 president).
Winged Heart Award nominees will be honored during the CCMS 70th Annual Presidential Installation and Awards Ceremony on Friday, July 12, 2024 at The Keep Memory Alive Event Center.
