THE CANCER RESEARCH RAQUET
TEAMS UP WITH TENNIS PROS TO FIGHT CANCER
Cancer supporters host two days of family fun to raise money for the American Cancer Society
On Saturday, April 14th, stars of the tennis world will align for the 7th Annual “Ultimate Ringer” Doubles Event and Community BBQ from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Spanish Trail Tennis Center, located at 7450 Mission Hills Drive in Las Vegas. The event organized by Robert Kinas, Partner at Snell & Wilmer and Events Director for The Cancer Research Racquet, features an entire weekend full of fun with more than a dozen former WTA and Division 1 tennis pros playing a series of exhibition matches.
Festivities begin Saturday with mixed doubles from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; then at 5:30 p.m., the public is invited to come out and enjoy a good ‘ole bbq featuring food from Memphis Championship Barbecue, while cheering on the Open-Level Tennis Exhibition. The weekend culminates Sunday, April 15th with an exciting morning of women’s doubles matches from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The exhibition aims to bring out alumni, families, and world-class tennis players to celebrate the tennis community, while raising awareness and money for cancer research projects here in Las Vegas. Although admission is free, The Cancer Research Racquet asks each guest or spectator to donate $10 for the food and drinks provided.
The weekend’s message is clear, “Advances in cancer research save lives.” All donations benefit the American Cancer Society, which have raised millions of dollars for cancer research. The public is invited to attend and encouraged to bring lawn chairs, beach blankets and, most importantly, support for this exciting outdoor event as it brings awareness to the fight against cancer!
