The Babys are back with original guitarist Wally Stocker and original drummer Tony Brock and have found an incredible new singer in John Bisaha, who sounds just like John Waite, who is not participating but has given his blessing…Next Saturday Nov 23rd at Vampd Vegas.
The Babys are a rock group best known for their songs “Isn’t It Time” and “Every Time I Think of You“. Both songs reached #13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in the late 1970s. The 1976–1978 Babys line-up consisted of keyboardist/guitarist Michael Corby, vocalist/bassist John Waite, drummer Tony Brock and guitarist Wally Stocker.
After Corby left the band in August 1978, a replacement was sought and the company brought in two musicians: Jonathan Cain as keyboardist and Ricky Phillips to take over as bassist. From 1979 until the breakup in 1981, The Babys line-up consisted of vocalist Waite, drummer Brock, bassist Phillips, guitarist Stocker, and keyboardist Cain.
After the breakup, John Waite went on to produce a major solo hit, “Missing You“, and continues to be a solo artist today. Jonathan Cain left to join Journey. John Waite, Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips joined Bad English in the late 1980s. Ricky Phillips currently plays for Styx. Wally Stocker and Tony Brock (together and separately) worked with Rod Stewart and other mainstream artists including Elton John, Air Supply, Keith Urban and Humble Pie.
In late 2012, auditions were held to find suitable replacements for the departed members. Joining original Babys Tony Brock and Wally Stocker, will be John Bisaha (Lead Vocals/Bass). The new lineup has been rehearsing the well-known Babys tunes from the past – while pushing forward with new music to be brought to The Babys FANS – who have been sorely neglected low these many years!

The buzz has grown steadily on The Stoney Curtis Band since Shrapnel Records released the debut album from the veteran blues artist on July 19, 2005. This is one of those rare times when you can almost judge a record by its cover. From the title “Acid Blues Experience” to the front cover depicting Stoney Curtis caught live in the moment in front of a stack of amps, the listeners know to expect something special.
In the tradition of classic blues-rock power-trios such as the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, the Stoney Curtis band are centered around their lead singer/lead guitarist Stoney Curtis who is, without a doubt, one of the most impressive Strat players on the circuit today. “I was going for the power of Zeppelin, the psycadelia of Cream and the Experience, the flow of Robin Trower Band,” explains Curtis.
It is no wonder why rows and rows of Harley’s line up anywhere in the world this band plays and people travel for miles to see this aggressive trio whip the crowd into a frenzy with their own brand of psychedelic blues rock, fueled by Stoney’s non-stop guitar pyrotechnics. Stoney describes where it all began – “It’s totally my roots of Chicago. It’s my Chicago sound – Hard Rock and Blues. I grew up on the South Side of Chicago before moving to Los Angeles. My friends & I grew up listening to Hard Rock, like UFO, Scorpions, KISS, Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc. as well as the Blues Rock like Robin Trower, Hendrix, Zeppelin and Clapton. The list is endless. But, it was when I saw BB King at Chicago Fest many moons ago that I totally fell in love with the blues.
